Life is good!

Okay I haven’t posted in a while and I thought I’d write an update for anybody reading.

In regards to weight loss, I have had some good things happen. From September 2014 to August 2014, I lost about 20 pounds and got into a size 18 in jeans. That was size 18, wide, petite. A couple months ago, I bought some jeans because they were only $3.00. Who is going to pass that up?! I noticed that they were size 18 petite, but I missed a crucial detail: they were not 18 petite WIDE!  I got home to try them on and guess what? They didn’t fit! I was disappointed, but I decided to keep them for when I COULD fit into them. Yesterday, I didn’t have any clean jeans (Laundry? What’s that?!) so I tried on the size 18 petite jeans. They pulled all the way up and zipped with no problem! WOO HOO! That was my NSV (non-scale-victory) for the day. I was so happy, I did a little dance in my room. Then, my dad walked by and looked at me funny. You know what happens when you get caught doing something you don’t want anyone to see? You freeze and pretend like you were doing something completely normal. Somehow, he was not convinced that I was testing the sturdiness of the floor. Go figure. 🙂

Some good things that happened yesterday as well:

– I stayed within my calorie range (even with 24 ounces of Dr. Pepper!)

– I drank 64 ounces of water. I looked on the internet and I should be drinking 140 ounces a day to maintain weight loss. Baby steps are better than no steps right? At least I got the recommended amount for everybody!

– I made a new recipe I found on Pintrest and it was awesome. Here’s my Pintrest web address if you want to check out what I have on there. I go on the website and check for new stuff to pin at LEAST once a week. https://www.pinterest.com/dianewoods1656/

– I’m going to try a Zumba class on Tuesday with my best friend and I am so excited! I’ve always wanted to try this. The first class is free and only $35 if you want to continue with the 8-week class. That sounds like a pretty good deal if I like it and can afford it. I’m also going to look into a gym membership for only $10. I have a friend that works out there and she said she will take me whenever she goes.

So, in conclusion, life is going pretty well and I am getting better every day. I am still working on getting over my ex, but he is getting farther from my mind every day as well. I have wonderful friends, a great family and a wonderful support system, online and off.  Here’s to a great 2015!

  1. Congratulations! That is awesome news. I also agree with your thoughts on babysteps. People that throw themselves into weight loss and lose so much so quickly, though I am impressed, I just dont think I could do it! Good luck and looking forward to following your journey 😀

PS. Zumba sounds terrifying! I am so uncoordinated.
